Hi! I am petitioning for my UK fiancé using the K-1 visa. However, I do not meet the minimum threshold of financial capability based on US income alone (I had been working in the UK for the past 1.5 years/am starting university studies). Online it says only some embassies allow you to use assets or a joint sponsor for financial capability. What is the deal with the London embassy? Does the London embassy allow

1. Me, the petitioner, to use assets to demonstrate capability?

2. Allow my parents to jointly sponsor to demonstrate capability?

Any other advice on how to get this done asap and as smooth as possible is welcome!

The Beneficiary can self sponsor

More importantly why a K1?

I used a joint sponsor for my K1 interview in London last May. It was really simple. I just submitted the form, a bank statement and tax return. No questions were asked about financial support. Perhaps I was lucky or possibly things have got stricter over the last ten months.

What kind of assets do you have?
