"I plan to submit my US citizenship application (N-400) on **July 10, 2025**, in Seattle. However, I will be traveling outside the US (to China) for ** May, and June 2025**, returning back to Seattle just before filing.

1. Does this trip break the **"90-day state residency requirement"** (living in WA for 3 months before applying)?

Should I delay my application until after staying 3 months back in Seattle? Thanks!"

Is the 2 months trip a necessity?

Why not naturalize, and then you can spend however much time you want outside the US?

You may be called for biometrics and even for interview within 2 months of filling.

Wish they had called me within 2 months of filling for an interview!

That's what happened in my case. I think at 2.5 months mark after filing? Need to check timeline, it happened so fast.

I am little over two months now. My case is also not as simple as others so mine get stuck in background check for a lot longer than simple cases.
