If you got married in the UK the divorce degree of the UK should be sufficient. If you got married in the Philippines or was recognized as married in the Philippines you need to produce a divorce document from that country too.

Reading is what? Fun-da-men-tal!

Your UK divorce is sufficient along with your AOM (Advisory on Marriages) from PSA.

I have the same situation - I'm now waiting for my visa to be issued.

Divorce is not legal in the Philippines. What can be done is to file a judicial recognition of foreign divorce if the couple is planning on getting married here too. If not, foreign divorce decree is enough.

You're welcome! Don't forget your PSA Marriage Certificate when you file. You need that as Proof of legal name change if you're using your ex's last name on passport.

Goodluck! 💕

Hi maam when i travelled uk bfore i used my ex husband last name.. and just recently months ago i changed my passport to my maiden name.

There is a line item on I-129F where you have to list all other names you used such as AKAs, Maiden Name, your previous married name(s) etc.

Prepare original birth certificate, AOM, Marriage certificate and Divorce Decree. You will need them. (Only photocopies were used during initial filing)

Hi maam, sa pinas ka po ba nag file ng k1?

Sa cfo maam buti hndi ka hinanapan ng cenomar?

My fiancé filed in California. I'm still in Manila waiting for my visa to arrive. My status just changed to Issued on CEAC yesterday so I haven't gone to CFO yet.

I'm sure they will ask for Cenomar. But since we're still married in PH we must provide Advisory of Marriages or AOM instead (kindof Cenomar for married women in my understanding hehe) and divorce decree as proof of termination of previous marriages.

I'll keep you posted how CFO goes 😊

Hey Mary... I have heard that the CFO lately is asking for police/FBI clearance from the petitioner at the counseling session. Didn't want you to be surprised by that if you did not hear about it.

True story! 😵‍💫 Thank you for the heads up!

So, I called CFO if I can bring dry sealed court documents stating Tony's DUI from 20 years ago was dropped. The guy said any document with the same equivalent of police/FBI clearance "MAY" be used. I recorded the phone call btw as a proof! HAHAHAHAHA

BUT............ at the same time I kinda want Tony to get his fingerprints scanned at authorized USPCS for that clearance or FBI rap sheet they call for $50 in case they won't accept the court documents. What do you think? 😣

I did this.... You have to sign up on the FBI website first and get a case number and then register it with the USPS. I had the email back from the FBI with my results within 2 hours of doing the fingerprints at USPS
