Cairo, Egypt Embassy - Interview - Refused

Hello all,

Did anyone receive any similar forms like us, which stated that our application was refused under A "221(g)" visa refusal, as in the attached file.
Even though we have submitted everything, they sent us back our pictures, and they mentioned that my fiancé needs to bring evidence of our relationship to the interview.
Is that a normal process at the Cairo, Egypt embassy?

Also, they scheduled our appointment for July. Can we ask the embassy to have an earlier appointment?

It's normal at any embassy where the Consular Officer does not have enough proof of relationship to approve the visa. Your only recourse is to gather all of the proof of a bona fide relationship you have and submit it.

Can I assume that the writing at the bottom of the 221g form says you need to return with Proof of Relationship? Because that part is not circled in the pre-printed section

You are right.

Yes, it says in Arabic, bring proof of the relationship to the interview appointment.
They sent us back our pictures, and they did not circle any x boxes.

Then that is what they will need to overcome the 221g refusal and approve the visa... The appointment in July is for a follow-up interview? What did you submit for the first interview for proof of relationship?

My fiancé and I never had any in-person interviews; that's the first interview. we had submitted everything, and they sent us back the pictures and tickets for flights. 
They ask us to bring proof of relationship back at the first interview in July.

Ok so was this just a review of the documents by the embassy prior to the interview?

Interesting.... This is the first I've heard of a 221g being issued outside the confines of an actual interview. Well, at least now you know you need to beef up your proof of relationship before the interview.

Well, I am speechless because the relationship and the proof are so solid.

Did you hear about the paper color codes of the 221G?

Yes... I've heard that a 221g on white paper is a "Soft" refusal meaning it's easily corrected.

What proof did you guys submit?

Everything, such as photos, screen shots of chat, calls, videos, flight tickets, and prints out.
It was all printed on A3 paper, which is more larger size of paper.
They sent it all back to us.

Ok sounds pretty thorough... did it also include the time period between when your I-129F was filed and the time you submitted the proof to the embassy?

Whatever else you submit, get to your fiancee several days early and take (and print) copious photos together, gather as many mutual receipts as possible, and everything else you can think of, and absolutely overwhelm them at the consular window with current evidence.  This does NOT sound good at all.
