Steps for after NVC receives case from USCIS? K1 Visa

Hi Everyone,

 

I am hoping someone can help clarify what needs to be done after NVC gets our case?  I got a message (over a month ago) saying our case was sent to Department of State. I sent an inquiry after 30 days of waiting and NVC responded with an ID and invoice number. However, they said it still has not been sent to the HCMC Embassy. It sounds like we just need to wait for the Embassy to pull our case but I want to make sure I am not missing anything (forms, fees, etc...).

 

Also if anyone wants to share their experience, timeframes, or tips I would love to hear them! I am brand new to this website so I apologize if I am posting in the wrong place.

The next step after the NVC receiving it is paying the fees. It's only after it leaves the NVC then the embassy get involved. Have you been documentary qualified yet?

Hi,

 

Thank you for your reply! When I check on CEAC it says "At NVC" with my case number below. How do I become Documentary Qualified? I thought fees get paid after the Embassy receives the case (at least for the HCMC Embassy).

Please complete your timelines. Once you get case number from nvc, check to see if ready at embassy. Once ready at embassy schedule medical and interview.
