EAD time

Are EAD approvals taking longer? Seemed they were getting approved pretty quickly like 4-6 weeks. We didn't apply right away with our i485 but then later decided to do did it in January and other than notice if receipt and that they would reuse the i485 biometrics we haven't had any update. Is 2 months or more becoming normal now?

A few years ago, they were taking 6 months.  Processing times for all forms across the immigration spectrum vary all the time.

I realize that you might be trying to project cost of living and how long until another income can support it.  It's really hard to say what the timing is with the new administration.  Just expecting it to fluctuate, as it always does and as @SalishSea mentions, is probably the best way to keep your sanity.
