We received a RFE today---one of the boxes checked was that a I-693 was required.

#######????-she just had her medical exam in Kiev on March 15!!!!!!---well within the 1 year limit for documents. We did see a civil surgeon for the vaccination supplement---it was submitted in a sealed envelope with the AOS packet.

N. did not get a copy of the medical report from the clinic---the only copy was in the envelope she presented at JFK.

I went back and checked the copy we kept of the I-485-----in part 2 box C is clearly checked-"I entered on a K1 visa"

Anybody got any ideas or suggestions? We go for the Biometric visit on Thursday; so I WILL be asking the folks at the Atlanta office.

Don't expect to get that kind of information at the biometric appointment. I think you need to make an infopass appointment.

Infopass won't really help you, as mentioned in my thread and someone else's. They told both of us we needed a new medical. Congressman got involved, so if you call yours see if they can find out if your medical was lost, rather than accepting your supplement.

Best to just get the medical and not fight "City Hall". You may open a can of worms.

I disagree with this. It's not the applicant's fault that their medical was lost or misplaced. They shouldn't have to shell out the money when someone with some authority (infopass and/or senator/congressperson) can at least look into the matter first to see if they really do need to pay for a new medical.

Are you sure in this case, they are asking for the full medical and not just the I-163A medical supplement? What did you send in regarding the vaccine supplement in the original petition?

We went to civil surgeon for I-693A---the supplement was all she needed, since her exam was in March this year. It was submitted in sealed envelope with AOS packet.

The RFE says "submit I-693, Medical Exam of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status"

I started calling to the other Civil Surgeons in GA--I found one in Columbus who would fill out the forms for $120---if we bring him the test results for HIV, RPR, PPD--they won't do these tests in his office. So I guess next step is to schedule some time off to go by the county health department.

Talking to the nurse in his office, she said it was a very common problem--for USCIS to "misplace" the medical docs. She also said that since March; USCIS has required a TB skin test (PPD) and then a follow up X-ray if the results are positive; and the X-ray must be within 90 days. Sounds like they are administratively changing the rules to require a new medical exam over here.

Personally I would try Congressman or SOMEONE higher up that the stupid info line, these files have a way of sometimes magically being "found" (and sometimes not unfortunately). Just be sure you leave enough time to get the medical done before your RFE comes due in case things don't work out with inquiries. It's a big gigantic piece of poo that they keep losing these medicals that have already been paid for!!

absolutley correct..i was just wondering because I have experiences where it appeared that they were asking for the medical but the supplement sufficed. I think you are doing all the right things and you have some good advice here. I am sorry that you seemto be one of those that have the medical "misplaced"....Hope youcan get this turned around soon! FYI--We went for the Biometric appointment today. Her appointment was for noon--we got there about 11:20. They made everybody line up outside until arount 11:45 (very pleasant in Georgia in August). They only let the applicants inside; so I found some shade and waited. She came out around 12:30. Quick, easy, and the only problem was she had trouble remembering the home phone #

She said she observed and overheard a LOT of people who had received RFE for medical.
