A bit confused on N400 document question(s)

Hello,

 

I'd like to clarify something and would like to keep it accurate. See image added. 
 

My Question:

1. US. Citizen husband and Green Card Holder wife applying for N400. It would be 3 total years of residence right?

 

2. For dates of residence. When would the start of the date of residence be for Green Card Holder. From the start date of the Green Card date or from the first date of physicial presence at the address?

1.  To apply, Green Card holder must have been married to US citizen for 3 years AND must have had Green Card for 3 years....along with the other qualifications such as physical presence, etc. 

2.  Part 4 concerns physical addresses.  Start date is when you started living at that physical address.  It has nothing to do with Green Card date.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Thank you. I thought it meant when Green Card Holder became a "permanent resident" through green card. The reason I thought that because it says "Residence". I may be confusing myself.

Is she applying online or by paper?  Online filing was pretty easy for us.  You get receipt immediately.

In Part 4, "Residence" applies to the date she occupied that home at that address.  Her "residence since" date from her Green Card is addressed elsewhere on the N-400.

For 3 year rule though, don't forget about 3 years of marital union required.
