Hello All

My checks for the i-130 and i-485 (plus bometrics) were cashed on Friday and today I had a letter from USCIS confirming my biometrics appointment. But I did not receive anything else: the much vaulted NOA1??? Is this unusual?

Also the case number does not seem to show up on the case status system. Do I eed to be worried at this point?

I only just moved into my new apartment a few days ago, is it possible that the NOA1 could have been returned?

I was told by an officer at the USCIS that government documents cannot be forwarded (if you are forwarding mail through the usps). Any documents they send will be sent to your old address and then returned to the USCIS/service center as "undeliverable document". You need to call USCIS and speak to an officer (not the call center) and notify them of any address changes.

Also, they will non re-issue or resend a NOA1. But you can find your number on the back of your cashed check. Have this in hand when you call -- with this, the call center/officer can track your case. You can even go online at uscis.com and register right now with the number that is stamped on the back of your cashed check, and it will tell you the latest status of your case.

This happened to me and really shocked me. It's something you need to take care of asap.

I just re-read your posting...your case is different than mine, and it looks like you already have a number and you received a letter. I'd still double-check with USCIS because of your move and to be sure they have your updated address.

Yes they can be a bit out of synch, USCIS was flooded with petitions before the rate hike so MSC may be a bit slow printing and sending the NOA1 for I-485, however I do believe that Baltimore prints ans sends out the Biometrics appointment they only need to know that the I-485 was received by MSC.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Biometrics appointment letters come from Missouri, not from where the biometrics are taken.

I received my biometrics letter before I received my NOA so, no, it's not unusual.
