Hello everyone, I haven't posted here for a while since I became a U.S. citizen in 2017, but given all the recent stories in the media, I'm curious to find out here about everybody's real life experiences.

For example, I just saw an immigration attorney's video (Jim Hacking) on YouTube that says there have been an increasing number of naturalization applicants that have got their applications denied, and then have their Green Card called into question, sometimes based on minor discrepancies in previous immigration paperwork... It's certainly concerning with all the high profile immigrants-related news stories coming out these past 2 weeks, but I also remembered that some of the stories I heard during his first term were either exaggerated or reported with missing details by liberal media outlets. I was also naturalized during Trump's first term: there was delay in the process experienced by all applicants, but my general experiences dealing with USCIS didn't differ from that during the Obama administration.

Nevertheless, the messaging on USCIS' official instagram page certainly changed dramatically right after his 2nd term began. That page has always focused on sharing filing tips and procedure changes as well as photos taken at naturalization ceremonies, throughout both his first term and Biden, but now it shares a lot of, for lack of a more proper word, propaganda-ish content. Therefore, I want to see if everybody's real life experiences with USCIS are also truly different from before.

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hacking and some other attorneys make their living on convincing their "leads" (I heard Hacking give that name to everyone who calls his show) that their services are needed due to the evil policies of USCIS and the government.  Do they really hate the current administration?

My wife had a similar experience, K1, AOS, and ROC during Obama's second term, and N400 under Trump's first term, and we really didn't notice anything different other than the fact that when my wife filed her I751 (Dec. 2016), it was right when USCIS was deprioritizing that process, so many folks around that same time or after were working to get ADIT stamps since USCIS only issued 12 month extension letters.

Beyond that, a lot of hype and noise out there from many sources.

there are 3 stages (red, orange and yellow)

one news put Pakistan in orange while another put that country in yellow

Ask if the following happened during the 1st ban as i believe people still came on the visa waiver program

Sec. 8 . Visa Interview Security. (a) The Secretary of State shall immediately suspend the Visa Interview Waiver Program and ensure compliance with section 222 of the INA, 8 U.S.C. 1202, which requires that all individuals seeking a nonimmigrant visa undergo an in-person interview, subject to specific statutory exceptions.

If u read thru Executive order 13769 the administration gave Homeland security 60 days to come up with info like what immigrants or illegals had committed crimes in US and Homeland security was unable to comply so a new order replaced it with 13780

both orders bought legal challenges in federal courts and as you can see in the stats for issued visas during 2017 to 2021 (his first term) visas were still issued and according to wording , itself , of the order anyone with valid visa could still travel.

when it was impossible to enforce those orders , ds 5535 came about May 4, 2017 (BTW another news post says 2020)

you can find stats for approved visas on the following site

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-statistics.html

you have heard of kick backs and under the table money , right

that is the way some of the rich get rich

and money to allow visas could happen

Many of us who are waiting for our I130's to be processed have suddenly noticed a change in focus being on I 130's more.  They also flew threw October and November cases.  I did notice a lot more warnings and notices on USCIS social media/website as well. But I think that just proves where this administration's focus really is, and that is a good thing!

There seems to be a bit of everything. A case I read about was "this GC holder has turned away and sent back"... but then it said he had a DIY... I get that maybe sometimes they can be lenient, but a DYI is not nothing so if they wanted, they could turn you back. Maybe for Americans having a DYI is nothing XD

Another case, like that actress applying for a TN visa was bizarre since they could have turned her back at the border if there was something wrong with her paperwork instead of leaving her 2 weeks at a detention center for no reason!
