Hi everyone! I really hope you can support me with your knowledge!
I had my medical on 6/17/2024, entered the us on 8/6/2024 and we got married 9/27/2024. The PD on our AOS packet is 10/23/2024. So as you can see we were pretty fast (I don't want to brag it's just important that I give you my timeline for the question). Now with my interview for 4/15/2024 they say they want to see a medical if required.
"If required, a completed Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, and/or vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope (unless already submitted). Please see the Form I-693 Instructions for guidance on whether you need a complete medical examination, an updated vaccine supplement only, or neither."

My question now: we send the form 3025 with the AOS packet and we send a letter that I won't have to do another one since this is what the rules say. But my medical "expired" on 9/30/2024. Now I'm very worried that I have to do a whole medical again or I do something wrong.

Please advise me here 😅 thanks in advance 🫶🏻

you should be fine

Does this also mean that I don’t have to fill out I-693 at all?

correct

the I-693 was in the envelope you gave to CBP at your POE when you arrived.

CBP turns that over to immigration, so they should already have it.

If you didn't receive an RFE for it at this point, thats a good indication that they have it.

If i were you I would bring an additional copy of the DS-3025 with you to the interview

Thanks! Yeah we didn’t get a RFE luckily so I will take that as a good sign!
yes! I will literally bring everything we have haha but I would do the interview today and I would be prepared… I was just anxious about the medical but otherwise I’m just happy to (hopefully) be done soon

Jumping in here with my own question, if that's alright.

I am getting ready to submit my AOS packet and had completing certain sections of the I-693. It wasn't that clear to me that it shouldn't be included at all and the instructions on the form state that if you completed your medical abroad you are only to provide parts 1 - 5, 7 and 10:

image.thumb.png.dc40dc643030b256f70d28cd6df648bd.png

That also confuses me though as sections of those parts require completion of a civil surgeon, which I am not, so I'm unclear if I am to complete that, as I'm obviously not in a position to get the same CS to sign off on it...

I handed in my packet at POE upon entry, and have a copy of my DS-3025 which I was going to provide with the AOS packet. Can anyone confirm what I need to do? I think the VJ AOS timeline is a little out of date so is causing me some confusion. :(

you don't need to complete the I-693.

CBP should have given that packet over to immigration and they should have it.

what you should do is just include a copy of your DS-3025 (i assume it was marked as complete and is complete?) as well as a cover letting explaining that you do not need to complete another exam.

I believe @Edward and Jaycel  has a good template for that cover letter if i remember correctly

Yeah you don’t need that form if you have a complete vaccination history and it’s all completed. Just copy your 3025 and add that and I added a letter stating that I had my medical done there and there and therefore not needed to do the form. You can also check out Yasmin on YouTube she has amazing videos which are super detail oriented

Just bring the copy of your DS-3025 to the interview and remind them that the medical exam was completed within one year of filing your I-485. They say they want to see an I-693 if required. It is not required in your case. Your medical expired in September of 2024 only for the purposes of the visa validity. Your medical exam abroad is good for filing with the I-485 as long as the exam happened within one year of that AOS filing. Hope this helps… I know it’s a bit rambling but we e been traveling all day and the flights were very bumpy 🤪
