Hi all! Hope everyone has been getting updates for this cases.

I just wanted to ask if anyone here has filed for the I-131, Application for Travel Document ? The agent through Emma ( USCIS online support chat ) says that my EAD card is a combo of I-765 and I-131. Which I have also read on the notice that it is, but it is also does not guarantee of re-entry (i must be mistaken or read it wrong).

Has anyone traveled outside of US while waiting for their green card and re-entered US using the EAD combo card? it says on my card " SERVES AS I-512 ADVANCE PAROLE".

Do you have an emergency? Yes, I-131 should allow you to get in. But in theory, if I-485 is denied while you're outside the US, this invalidates I-131.

No. not an emergency. asking because we wanted to travel and go on a vacation outside US before we move. It has been a stressful year so hoping that we can de-stress a little.  We filed AOS last January and i got my EAD combo card last Feb.

My husband is an active duty service member and we have to move overseas within this year. My GC is still under review. I have read that there won't be problem with going out but as we have to stay overseas for 3yrs I hope GC would be ready by the time we have to come back.

It's your call whether to risk it for vacation.

Technically, you should be allowed into the US. You may be briefly placed in secondary when returning on advance parole.

Good luck!

Technically, the I-766/I-512 combo card or I-512 can be used as US entry for all travels outside the US. But theoretically, it was designed for necessary travels. With the Trump travel bans, AP entries may not be guaranteed as before?

I remember reading somewhere a while back that if evidence and reasons are provided for cases of emergency travels, then approval is easier or expedited.

In our I-131 application, we included a few of my foreign spouse's elderly relatives IDs and explained in the last part Additional Information as reasons for travel back to the Philippines in case situations arise. We ended up with the combo card after an I-765 expedite request.

I used it over 10 times my AP.
