Hello VJ family ,

My fiancée was told verbally that her visa application was approved but ceac case status still shows “application received “

Your case is open and ready for your interview, fingerprints, and required documents. If you have already had your interview, please check your status after two business days. If no interview was required, please check back in two business days for the updated status of your application.
Does anyone know how long does it take to see approved status ?
thank you in advance acc86999-cf82-409d-be16-71fe3d5f3504.thumb.jpeg.e98a33eadf4eafa910d77215adb84210.jpeg

“ application received “

The good thing about this status - The whole time from when NVC sends your I-129F packet to the embassy through the interview, the embassy treats your K-1 visa as if it is an immigrant visa (because of the immigrant intent) UNTIL it gets time for the visa issuance. Because it still technically is a nonimmigrant visa, it has to be issued by the NIV section of the consulate. When the CEAC status syays "Application Received" that means that the IV section has transferred the packet to the NIV section for visa issuance. It doesn't mean all AP checks are done, but it is a good sign that your packet is moving to the right department of the consulate to issue the visa :)

The status now shows “ issued “ but we haven’t received any email for passport pickup. In Pakistan they have a subcontractor ( carrier company) pickup location. Should we go and pickup passport or should we wait for email instruction from the carrier company?

Jaycel’s said “Issued” for a couple of business days before she got an email with the tracking number from the contract courier. What method did you choose? Delivery or pickup?

I’m not sure TBH… is the pickup being done at the embassy? Was there any notes when you chose that option of what communication if any you’ll receive?
