Hello everyone, I am completing my application for I-485 and needed some guidance from those who have applied for the application or have knowledge in this area, with me being F-1 student. I have several questions for the application, which I will be listing below by part/item number:

  1. Part 1/Item 18

This part is asking for Current US Physical Address, Current Mailing Address, Prior Address, and Most Recent Address outside the US. I have All the addresses filled as needed. However, My recent address outside the US is within range of 5 years of address history. Would I be I be putting it in part 14. Additional information, as I already have a prior address filled, and not bother about Most Recent Address outside the US. Or, should I just put it in the Most Recent Address outside the US?

2. Part 4/Item 7

This part is asking for ALL of the employment and educational history for the last 5 years. I am currently attending college and not employed for some time. I know I should put the education first, would I need to put the unemployment as well in the Part 14. Additional Information.

Also, should I also put the most recent employer/school outside of the united states in its box if it is within the last 5 years or I need to put it only in part 14.

3. Part 6/Item 8

My wife is living in another state, with her parents, as she is attending college. however, she is often here with me too as some of her classes are online. Would I be putting her parents address for her physical address.

4. Part 9/Item 1 to 5

Have you EVER been a member of, involved in, or in any way associated with any organization, association, fund, foundation, party, club, society, or similar group in the United States or in any other location in the world - I have been a president of an organization at my college for a year, will I putting that information in this part?

Note the question asking for "most recent" address outside the US and "most recent" place of study / employment. It doesn't say "in the last 5 years". Even if most recent was 10 or 20 years ago, you should list it.

The only time you don't list it, is if it falls within last 5 years and already listed in preceding questions.

Yes, I know. However, my last address outside the US lies within the 5 year history. I am putting it in part 14. Additional information. Should I put it in its own section too, because it says "if not listed above"?

So you're saying you had too many addresses in the last 5 years that you have to use Additional Section?

I don't think listing it twice is a problem even if you do it.
