@wangaturtle I will make a suggestion that when you do start making requests on the public inquiry form for NVC, include a scan of your NOA2 in the attachment section and on your first inquiry, after you request your case number say something line, “Please also update the petitioner and beneficiary email addresses as follows:” and give both your email addresses to them. Sometimes when they input the case information from the I-128F, the email addresses get messed up. Jaycel and I did this on our first inquiry and after that we got every email from NVC and the Embassy sent to us without any trouble. Hope you have a quick time to being “In Transit”! :)

Awesome advice! We will definitely do this. Thank you so much!

Per NVC response to my query, expectations should be adjusted.  They advise that now due to staffing changes, it is expected to take upwards of 60 days for USCIS to transfer the case to NVC.  Copy/paste from NVC response email when I checked at 30 days...

To Whom it Concerns:

Thank you for your inquiry. The National Visa Center (NVC) has not yet received your petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

Although the Form I-797 approval notice mentions a delay of up to 30 days for cases to be delivered to NVC from USCIS, current shipping times may be longer. If you have not received a communication from NVC about this case within 60 days from the I-797 approval notice, please contact us again.

Once NVC receives this petition from USCIS and enters it into our system, all case parties will receive a notice that they can begin processing if a visa number is immediately available.

First of all, no need to be rude or give attitude when you’re answering my question. Thank you for the advice in the second paragraph, however.

I'm sorry if you interpreted that as rude.  I wanted to see the thread where that was stated so we could get context.

Ask anyone here, I'm the first to call out rude replies towards myself.

Hi,

You can submit a public inquiry as early as 2nd week from NOA2 receipt to get the case number. I remember sending PI every 2 days. Hahaha. My friend found a trick that seemed to work for others.

They submitted the public inquiry Friday Manila 6pm which is technically Friday morning in the US. First hour shift of caseworkers hehe so your inquiry goes on top of the list and will likely get a response sooner than 48 hours.

Sharing NVC shipment dates. The dates in yellow are the dates NVC ship files to the embassies.

Rooting for In Transit soon for everyone! 🙂

Awesome, thanks for sharing! Are these dates from the NVC website? We got our case number and invoice ID, but our case still says it's with the NVC. Do you think it could move to the Embassy this week or around March 25-26?

NVC send cases every 2 weeks per batches.

I don't want to give you false hopes but I really hope it will be included on the next shipment schedul!

I read comments here with NVC's responses to public inquiries about longer processing/wait time its hard to tell all we can do is just wait and keep checking on those date.

current guidance from NVC is to expect a 60 day period between NOA2 and NVC case generation.  The two week expectation stated on the VJ timeline is no longer accurate.  I know some were saying here that they send in 2 week batches.  Im just pointing out that NVC is stating there is a larger delay in that happening than in the past and to expect a 60 day period.

i guess it depends what you mean by case creation, but we got our noa2 jan 31st - then it took 20 days for them to send it to state - then another 3 weeks or so before we got a case number and now i am on pins and needles waiting to see if they’ll send it to my embassy next week. if they do that’s about 2 months.

my fiance also lives and works near the nvc offices, and some of the people there are on a strike because a lot of them got hired remotely and now they have to come into the office 5 days a week even if they live like 2+ hours away. so if lots of people lose or leave their jobs i guess we can expect even more delays. 😕

Same situation here. We received our NOA2 on January 29th, USCIS forwarded it to the NVC on February 18th, and we got our case and invoice numbers on March 10th after a Public Inquiry response. Fingers crossed our case goes In Transit next week!
