Many many things. Mostly suspicion of fraud/misrepresentation. There are a lot of opportunities in the US to create a better life and there are people out there who want to take advantage of that.

Immigration to the US is difficult and not for the faint of heart.

I understand. It just sucks for those of us in genuine relationships who have been separated for years and seeking to sooth the pain through reunion and a normal life. It's depressing to have life almost frozen for so many years and watching others move on and build their lives with their partners. I've even seen innocent people and genuine relationships be so heavily scrutinized. Then there's the fear of being one of those couples wrongly suspected and misjudged leading to denial :( its really so hard....

Congratulations, you’re one of us ;).

The only way out is through so get started on that paperwork and don’t be paralyzed by the challenge.

If you are honest and have a genuine relationship it’s quite easy to produce the evidence that you need.

Less worrying, more doing! Good luck and keep us updated.

Thank you!

Yes 🙂 we are all not alone in this. I'm compiling evidence as we speak with my  husband before he goes back to the states.

What paperwork would you recommend ad evidence. Even though our relationship is genuine, we're scared of being denied based on financials. Since both of us aren't in prestigious spots so we are going to be using a co-sponsor.

I hope it works out. How's it going for you?

The necessary paperwork differs per situation so I cannot give specific answers. Check the instructions for I-130 (as you are going for a CR1 visa) on uscis.gov for more information. Stay close to the official sources to find your information.
Visajourney also has a guide for you (but always cross check the information with the information you find on uscis.gov).

Check my timeline for information on my visajourney. And please, fill in your own timeline to the benefit of yourself and others on this forum.

1st if you and spouse have prepared good solid evidence of the relationship and have spent quality time together, there is no reason to stress over this

Stress symptoms can affect your body, your thoughts and feelings, and your behavior. Knowing common stress symptoms can help you manage them. Stress that's not dealt with can lead to many health problems, such as high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, obesity and diabetes

the following activities will help control the stress

  • Get regular physical activity on most days of the week.
  • Practice relaxation techniques. Try deep breathing, meditation, yoga, tai chi or massage.
  • Keep a sense of humor.
  • Spend time with family and friends (my add talk online and encourage each other while waiting .  this is suppose to be a time of romance)
  • Set aside time for hobbies. Read a book, listen to music or go for a walk. Schedule time for your passions.
  • Write in a journal.
  • Get enough sleep.
  • Eat a healthy, balanced diet.
  • Stay away from tobacco and alcohol use, and use of illegal substances.

there is a good site that tells red flag issues but mostly the immigrant needs to know every little and big thing about the USC during interview,  keep your answers short and do not elaborate by going into long detail, and don't let the interview stress u out

bless u both
