Hello, everyone! We live in GA, I'm a US citizen, my feance is already officially my spouse and she's going to apply documents for AOS(Adjustment of Status), she needs to pass a medical exam at USCIS approved doctor, I wonder if there are any program that provides free/low price insurance for her that could cover the costs of the exam and maybe some other health care needs?
Also I'd appreciate recommendations of dental insurance that could cover fully or partly a tooth extraction, implant and a crown.
Thank you for your attention and any information!

As a K-1 Visa entrant, she should have already had an Immigrant Medical exam before her K-1 interview abroad.

As the petitioner, you are responsible for providing these things to your spouse.   She is not eligible for means-tested benefits.  You can check out low cost dental options, such as schools of dentistry.

If she did not complete the medical exam requirements overseas, that’s another out of pocket expense that insurance will not cover.

If you are talking about the I-693 medical exam, I don't think any insurance covers the costs or even partial costs.

The Civil Surgeon we went to was in our health insurance network, but the clinic did not deduct any of the costs even with our health insurance card.

You can call around / shop around, but the costs I found in Atlanta were around 300-400, even if you want the doctor to do the minimum like transcribe the vaccine record.

In our case, my foreign spouse was missing a vaccine dose, so we paid an extra 160 just to get it done that day. We could have probably gotten the vaccine dose at Kroger for free, covered by our health insurance, but we wanted the I-693 paperwork done ASAP to submit to USCIS.

Do you have dental coverage from work?

Even with most dental coverage, expect the extraction and crown to be 500-1000 or higher.

A friend of mines wife needed a lot of dental treatment, she went to Mexico, forget the name of the place but south of Cancun, a lot cheaper than the US and she got a holiday thrown in and the facilities and treatment were excellent.

I am in Colorado and have heard of people going to the School of Dentistry in Denver for cheaper more local cover.

Most common situation for health cover is to get added to their Spouses arrangements.

I have come across a couple of cases where people have had the I 693 covered by Medical Insurance, seems very rare and always wondered if this was a mistake by the Insurer.

Dentist here.

Unless you're getting your dental insurance through a group such as work you'll need to spend a LOT to get decent coverage.   Most plans will also have a waiting period for major work like an implant (you'll be very lucky to even have a small part of that covered) or bone grafting and the crown.  You can expect that to run well over $4k.

Dental schools are a good alternative but you can expect to make a lot of trips there and it will take longer.

CIGNA and Delta have some decent plans.  A lot of us have dropped Metlife and Guardian and Dentimax because of their poor reimbursement.
