Aloha,

Since seeing CEAC - Ready and (much later) receiving our K1-FTP, we have been banging our heads against the scheduling website. A couple weeks ago, I sent an inquiry to the Manila embassy about our case. Yesterday I received a reply. In part it says -

We received the electronic record from the National Visa Center (NVC) on January 29, 2025. The physical file is in transit to Manila.

For the applicant to be eligible for a visa interview, we need to receive both the electronic and physical files. Please be informed that we cannot state with any accuracy how long

it usually takes to receive the entire file of a visa case transferred from NVC.  It is important to note that we cannot conduct an interview without the physical file.

Once we receive the physical file at the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines, we will notify the applicant regarding the next steps.

I showed this to a friend on VJ. He has helped us during this process and his advice has been solid gold. He said for K1 visas, the Manila embassy doesn't send anything out after receiving the case and Dina and I should continue with scheduling. But at the same time, this was an official email from the embassy and early in the email, they stated this was for a K1 non-immigrant visa.

Not sure what to think or do.

Please be more specific. Does that mean the letter received is wrong?

It means it's a form letter the embassy sends everyone that inquires about interview appointments. Keep trying to schedule.

YES, continue to schedule.

We received the same email it's a generic response and the CEAC updated to "In Transit" status.  When status change to "READY", you can now start looking for medical, biometrics and interview slots.

I booked my medical while still in Transit status. You're good to proceed with the next steps as long as you have the MNL case already.

Mahalo Edward and Jaycel, Maryaaaa and John. Back to the insanity inducing website.

I completely understand... It was doing the same for us "No Slots Available" for a few weeks and then one day a calendar just happened to pop up when we logged in with 1 single appointment available. (Likely someone else's cancellation). Believe me when I tell you that all of this madness will just fade into background noise once she gets her visa and arrives in the US. It will be a shared trial that you both survived together and it will be something that actually strengthens your bond :)
