Hi,

I am helping my wife file for the I-751. We didn't have joint account as she was not employed for long time and we recently created joint account. I did some research and did figure out that it is best not to include the recently created joint bank account. I have rest of the other documents with utility bills, 401K, photographs and her as authorized user in credit card, military documents (DD93, SGLI), Photographs, Travel flight receipts, Affidavit (Notarized).

However, for the fee payment on I-751, will it be okay to pay with the joint account check? I would not want adjudicating officer to think otherwise on seeing the check with the joint account but not including the statements while filing.

Any recommendation would help.

Use the joint account.  Put a note in your I-751 cover letter that the account is new, and that you did not have a joint account until recently because your wife wasn't working.  Don't make THEM guess.  Show All statements that you have since she was added.
