K-1 Visa Medical Exam – What to Submit for I-485?

Hi everyone,

I entered the U.S. on a K-1 visa and had my medical exam before my visa interview. At the interview, I gave my medical documents to the U.S. embassy, and they kept everything. I didn’t receive any copies of my medical exam or vaccination records.

Now, I’m filing Form I-485 (Adjustment of Status), and I’m confused about what to submit for the medical exam and vaccination proof.

 

1. Since I already did the medical exam abroad, do I need to submit Form I-693, or does USCIS already have my records?
2. I can get my vaccination records from my family (my mom is my family physician, so she has access to my vaccination records from my country), but will USCIS accept them, or do I need a civil surgeon to complete Form I-693 just for vaccinations?

you shouldn't have to redo the medical since you received it abroad. your medical exam was in the envelope you gave to CBP at your POE. that would have to added to your immigration file and USCIS should have it.

 

did the physician who did your medical give you a copy of the DS-3025(vaccination worksheet)? they were supposed to.

are you able to contact that physician abroad who did your medical exam and have them send you a copy of it?

do you know if your DS-3025 was marked as complete? if it wasn't marked as complete you would need to see a civil surgeon in the US and have them fill in the I-693 for just the vaccines.

 

if it was marked as complete, and you are able to get a copy of it, it is best practice and make another copy of it and send that along with a cover letter explaining that you received a medical abroad and completed your vaccinations there and are not required to submit form I-693.
