My advice would be to call Homeland Security and report his ###. I hope they throw him in a cell so dark and damp that even the rats are afraid of it. This is the kind of low life scum bag that gives those of us that truly love our SO's a bad name. He is the kind of trash that is the reason we, that want to do this the right way, have such a hard time of it. If I sound harsh and pissed, I AM. When I have to wait 6 months to get an Interview so I can bring the love of my life to live with me because of jerks like him it pisses me off. Report him and let him rot and then start your divorce proceedings. I doubt you will have any trouble with that.

woah guys....This guy has nothing to do with your personal cases so try not to be judgmental here. She came to ask a question and I think we answered it the best we could.

And misa- you are tooooo naughty. I would do that too though.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Sorry to disagree but He does have something to do with our cases. Our cases are delayed and the process is unnecessarily complicated because of people like him.

Be sensible though. How many polygamists do you think have wives in the US that are petitioning for them? I think her case, specifically, is a rarity so don't clump this guy in with some other people that suck. Your case would still take a long time if this particular guy wasn't doing what he is doing. Furthermore, immigration processes have always taken a long time, with or without people mis-using the system.

Agreed completely. Half the wait is the people sitting behind desks, not the people who you believe are clogging up the system.

Just to reiterate what YuandDan said, which I think was one of the original questions - yes - Canada and the US do share information. This has been discovered time and time again in dealings with the consulate and with experiences crossing the border.

Just be careful you (the OP) do not get caught up in a legal issue and possibly face repercussions yourself.

Mo, this is excellent and mature advise - the OP might find herself into trouble because of this!

As per how I feel or not about her case: it's not my place to judge her. I just wish her luck and the best of outcomes, whatever that is for her. I understand other folks' sentiments but guys, come on, this is not OT, it's the Canada forum ;) We're here to support, not to bash each others' decisions. My 25 cents (.02 is tooo little).

wow, what a predicament. Yes, the US and Canada do share some information to a degree, although I am not sure if a current marriage in the other country would show up or not. Definitely notify USCIS and withdraw your petition (which you say you have done). If it were me, I would also notify Citizenship and Immigration Canada, providing them with a copy of your marriage certificate, stating that you are not divorced, but will be getting divorced since he married someone else after you and including any other information you know about his Canadian marriage. It sounds like he is trying to pursue immigration into both countries - that the immigration is what he is after, not the wife - and will follow up with the first country that 'accepts' him, probably divorcing the other 'country' once he is accepted somewhere. I am pretty sure, however, that neither country would benefit from his presence! It will be an eye-opener to him, I am sure, when he finds himself denied for both countries.

I am so sorry that you find yourself in this situation - it must feel devastating to you. Do what you have to do to protect yourself and move on from this 'user'.

I'm not bashing anybody and I respect everyones opinions even if I don't agree with them. I also am not bashing her at all. I feel really sorry for her that she got taken, mis led and duped. She ask for our opinions on what she should do and I gave mine. I hope she sticks around for support. I think he is a cretin and should be nailed for it.

I also agree with others that the workers themselves have something to do with it but frankly I don't know if the folks have the tools to do the job the correctly. Their jobs sure would be a whole lot easier if they didn't have to worry about people like this. Just think though that if this was the petition that the adjudicator looked at right before yours.

I have seen both ends of the "Government Worker". Those that work their asses off and never get an ounce of credit for it and those that can't go to the bathroom with out an authorization form signed and filled out in triplicate. (Anyone seen my red stapler) I'm sure Montreal, USCIS and all the rest are just like any other government office with a little of both.

True, but in all honesty, while there are people out there like I say are abusing the system, it is not interfering with your personal application. Just because that guy is an idiot, doesn't mean you are going to get denied or it's going to take you another year to get an interview. The immigration process, i hope you can agree, makes a everyone a little hyper-sensitive about these issues. I really just think that you laid it on a little thick in your responses. You will note you said "people like him..." meaning other polygamists. And I will re-iterate that the number of polygamists trying to immigrate to the US is probably under 1%.

It's up to her whether or not she should keep going or withdraw the petition. It's not up to us to judge her or tell her what she should do about her situation other than what she can do about saving herself legal trouble.

When I said people like him I meant those that are trying to dupe the system. I didn't mean polygamist. We will have to respectfully agree to disagree on whether the process to weed out folks trying to get into the country illegally by submitting false immigration paper work slows down my and yours processing.
