Hi everyone,

My case went "In Transit" last Wednesday and was not ready for an appointment two days ago when I checked, but I was able to schedule one today.

My embassy will probably receive my case soon, and my interview is on April 11th. Could there be any problems with setting an appointment before my case is officially marked as "Ready"? I’m feeling a bit paranoid and would love to hear from others who went through something similar!

Thanks in advance!😊

It's not common that people schedule interviews before hearing from their embassy. What embassy are you located at?

Submitted i-129F: 12-4-23
Received/NOA1: 01-31-24
Approved/NOA2: 06-05-24

Medical Exam: 08-06-24
Interview: 09-13-24 APPROVED
Visa in hand: 09-23-24
Moving date: 11-02-24
Married: 01-03-25
AOS Filed: 01-28-25
AOS Rejected: 02-25-25 (Mistake made on question 3a of part 2.)
AOS Refiled: 02-26-25

Biggest delay so far: requested SSN on 13th of November, never received the card, got the number in person Jan 16th.

Thank you for your response! I’m applying through Ankara, Turkey. My case went 'In Transit' last Wednesday, and I saw that I was able to schedule an interview this afternoon, so I went ahead. Have you seen cases where people scheduled before their case was marked as 'Ready'?

I personally have not. I recommend reading the Ankara/Turkey website on k1 visas. It says if you receive the email from them, then you can schedule.

Thank you for the link you've provided :) I understood the email from the NVC. Please correct me if I'm wrong! I am just hoping I would not face with any issues!

Did you receive instrutions on how to pay etc? If so, that would be the email.

The only thing I'll say is, usually you schedule your medical exam BEFORE your interview, because it has to happen before.

No, I have not received anything from my embassy yet. My fiancé received K1-FTP letter last Wednesday. When I tried to get an appointment back then, the system did not allow me saying "my case is not ready for an appointment" . However, I wanted to try it again today and the system allowed me to get an appointment in April even my case is still in transit.

It might not be bad, but you need to schedule your medical ASAP because it needs to be done before your appointment. You can also email them at the email that's listed on the website to confirm the appointment

This is a good timeline. Once case goes In Transit, it will changed to Ready in 2-3 days. You can secure your medical now 🙂
