I am a Fiance of a US Citizen who is going to marry me in November of this Year. The wedding will take place in my country not in US & after the wedding I want to come to US with my would be wife. I have gathered information from different sources and found out that I have to apply for K-3 Visa. However I am confused that do my US Citizen fiancee has to file I-130 after our marriage for me or can I directly apply to my embassy for the K-3 Visa?

The US citizen files the I-130 petition, the foreign citizen will then receive packets from the US consulate to fill out, and then interview for the visa.

You may want to consider doing just CR-1 visa, it takes a bit longer than K-3, is less expensive, less complex and has the benefit of permanent resident status upon entry.
