Hello all! My fiance's Interview in Manila, Philippines is this September 6th! :D I recently made up my Affidavit of Support and got my tax transcripts from the past three years from my local IRS office.

I'm including paystubs from both jobs I'm currently working at now and will soon get my bank statement. My fiance has pictures and receipts from my first and recent second visit to her.

For anyone who has been through this process already (particularly the Manila embassy) what is the interview like? What sort of questions may they ask my fiance and will they absolutely look at every requested form or just certain ones?

Also--my fiance knows english quite well so would it help her case to have the interview in english? I heard from somewhere that it streamlines the interview and involves less questions for her although I'm not sure if that is 100% certain.

If anyone has answers thanks in advance! :)

December 5, 2005: We met online and our lives changed--instant connection, became best friends

May 15, 2006: She is put on temporary hold from her job and asks me if I could hold on for her in the event she didn't get the job back. I said "yes, of course" and she finally proclaimed her love to me and admitted she'd loved me since February.

September 25, 2006: I land in Manila airport and rush into my baby's arms for the first time. We were both surprised to realise we were NOT nervous.

September 25, 2006: Our first kiss :P

September 27, 2006: I proposed to her in person and she accepted! :)

December 20, 2006: Mailed I-129 K1 petition to Texas service Center

January 15, 2007: Petition returned to me rejected :/ (placed wrong amount on check--duh!)

Febrary 10, 2007: Resubmitted the petition adding updated info pages and a CORRECT check

February 26, 2007: NOA1

May 28, 2007: I land in Manila on our anniversary and we feel whole and complete yet again :)

June 20, 2007: NOA2 which said it would take six months for an interview (Dunno why it said that)

August 4, 2007: My baby receives Packet 4 unexpectedly out of nowhere--the frantic cramming begins

August 23, 2007: Frantically prepared documents FedExed

August 30, 2007: My baby has a long two days at St. Lukes but checks out fine! :)

September 6, 2007: Interview date: after 8 agonising hours--APPROVED!!! :D

September 6, 2007: Plans for her arrival in January 2008 for our wedding are established! :)

Thank you very much! I have another quick question. I need to mail these forms out to her by about next week to ensure they reach her in time for her interview. What is the most efficient shipping option to ensure a delivery of seven days or less of these forms to her? DHL? FedEx? UPS?

Thank you :)

Good Luck on her interview.

You can use Fed-ex and it may only take 3 days for delivery or you can also use DHL. Either way, both are good since you can track the status of your package/letters.

Hello i had my interview last aug7 and it turn out good. About your question they have two sets of interview first is the screening which is the interviewer is filipino and final interview with american CO. As my experienced they get only my fiance w-2 tax and employment certificate. You dont have to sent her your bank statement because your income will showed already on the W-2 affidavit of support plus your evidence of genuine relationship ( pictures, emails, chatlogs, reciept of engagement ring, hotel reciept, letter of intent, travel itenerary when you visit her) thats all.Regarding interview it is really very easy the CO only asked when did you meet?Did you see him in person?Where is his last visit? What is his job? Is he have kids?Divorced? Are you married before? You have kids? Thats it...You dont have to feel nervous because if your CO see you nervous she will gonna ask you more question....just relax and think you only applying for job. Goodluck to you and for sure you will make it....

My fiance used FedEX when he sent me important documents/packages. I got it after 3 working days. I also used FedEX when I sent my documents to him. Just the same, he got it within a week and we could track the shipping status on the said courier website. :)

Good luck!

You were never a mistake. You were my realization.

They will probably ask you the arrival and departure dates of your fiance's visit(s) to the Phils. As for me, I memorized what was stamped is his passport, just to be sure.

My husband sent the required documents (I-134 and proofs of income and relationship) 10 days before my interview via FedEx. He paid about $125 for a 2-lbs. package. It is worth it though, I got it in 3 days. We did not take the risk of sending it thru USPS, since the affiliate of USPS here in the Philippines is no less the the Phil Postal Office, which is known for delay and missing packages.

Van I would use FedEX. My girl lives in Cebu and DHL never delivered her packet 4. After 29 days we found out it was sitting in their office. They claimed they text her and could not find her home. But she never did get a call or a text. We save them all. DHL made almost no effort in finding her package for us or her home. We had to visit the office in person and find someone who gave a #######.

We used FedEx to send the documents and they delivered in 3 days no issues no problems. I strongly suggest FedEx with your original documents!

Good Luck!

FedEx is a good option. I've used them before but they're a bit pricy. If you have LBC (filipino courier service), in your area, they are just as reliable. I've sent with them many times and got there within a week (via air) Good luck!
