Hello,

I will try to make this simple as I can. I'm sponsering my wife only. There is only us two on the affidavit of support. I made above poverty guidelines in 2006, 23,000. In 2004 & 2005 I was not above poverty guidelines, I was a full time student. I make good money now and have been working full time this year for 6 months. Does anyone think I will need a co-sponser?

No co-sponsor needed they are most conserned with past year's income, and current income.

Consider using I-864EZ it is designed for your situation, income above poverty line, no assets needed just IRS transcripts, (Pay stubs, and employer letter optional.), One immigrant being sponsored.

Nope. Your current income is sufficient and documentable. Be sure to document it with Employer letter and recent pay stubs. Only one tax return is required. If your income now exceeds that shown on your 2006 tax return, you can state the current income and document it. Even though the 2006 tax return is required, you are not required to use 2006 income as your "current income".

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Don't even bother mentioning your financial situation for 2004 & 2005, all you need is copies of your tax return and W2s or tax transcripts for 2006, letter of employment and recent pay stubs as pushbrk mentioned. Don't sweat it.

Correct I-864EZ indicates only past year IRS data required, past 3 years is optional.

I-864EZ, like I-864, asks the Sponsor to enter the total income as reported on the tax returns for the last 3 years, but asks for supporting documentation for only the 1 most recent year. Asking for only the most recent year's documentation does not mean that the Sponsor need only report the income amount for the most recent year. They are expected to report all 3 years, they just don't need to document all 3 years.

As a practical matter, how does not reporting years 2 and 3 differ from reporting $0 for years 2 and 3?

whitteds,

You might. For one thing, you've provided very little information to go on, e.g. you say nothing about the nature of your current employment other than that you've been working for 6 months.

Some people who have been in your situation have been asked to provide a Joint Sponsor on the basis that the case officer is not comfortable that the current income is sustainable.

Thank you to those who replied to my concern. To give more accurate information on my current income is that I make 14.00 and hour I have worked this job about 6 months. In the letter I received from my employer states that I make a projected amount of 29,310 per year. I will not make that in 2007 because I just started this job about 6 months ago. Again my 2006 tax return was 23,000. I will not use my 2004 & 2005 tax information at all, unless requested. I do think going with the I-864ez that seems to be the response I got back that will help me? It is a major concern in my situation because I do not have a strong co-sponsor to help me. So my faith is strictly based on your guys, and God. So my question was very important to know.

Thank you guys out there and god bless your visa situations as well. I will be looking forward to speaking to you more out thee soon. Bye the way keeps careful of what attorney's you hire. Read my profile and you will se what happen to my wife and me. We got set back allot. God bless.
