Hi all!

Can anybody give any some updated info on K1 Visa processing at the RJ counsel?

After NVC sends the K1 package down, how long before you were notified about Package 3?

How long did processing take after the interview until you were able to pick up your passport?

I ask because I am trying to plan my PTO (personal time off) at work so that we have enough time when the interview hits. I've heard it usually is 2 days, but the emabassy web site is now saying 5 days. That could really screw up my time off from work dependign on how long I am down there for the interview with my girl :(

The timelines are your friends, select K-1 filter by country, and sort by interview date, then compare NOA2 to interview to tet estimates of time from NOA2 to P3 etc...

We will let you know how ours is working. We have all documents ready, and as soon as Shirley´s brother calls us withg the RDJ number, we will overnight the request for appointment to the consulate. I am currently renting an apt in Rio, so we are here waiting. Shirley has done the medical, and we have applied for police checks in Rio for both the FED and State. They cost nothing, just a subway ride. When we send the request for appointment, we will use this Rio address, then head for BH to get the MG State police check. And, say bywe to the family at the same time.

Actually, I had a K-1 approved here in Rio last year. It was no problem. They are very helpful. She did not like the US, and returned to Brazil 4 weeks after arrival.

If you want my email address, let me know, and I will send it to you.

Take a look at my complete timeline. My husband received packet 3 WEEKS after he had sent it - and even after he already had his interview date. I requested that date via email....he never got packet 4.

I know that my husband's I-129F packet was mailed to Rio around Christmas time and we found out about the interview in the end of January. His interview was in March (whether or not it would have turned out that way - and I think so - I asked that the interview be after Carnaval because he was going from Manaus and me from FL).

Good luck!
