Welcome and Congratulations on your approval!

This thread was created for those who are waiting for their NOA2  K-1 case assignment from NVC and then tracking your case onwards to your Embassy.

Your case will be forwarded from USCIS to NVC shortly (cases have been taking 30-60 days to reach NVC. Please be patient). Once your case has arrived at NVC , you will be assigned a new case number (your old USCIS case number will not give you any NVC updates).

A few helpful NVC links:

➡️ NVCResearch@state.gov ⬅️

 NVC phone number is  (603)334-0888

I am including this in hopes that they will reinstate the number in the future  :

🚨  They are currently NOT answering queries over the phone!! ️They are primarily answering all queries solely via their public contact page
🚨

NVC PUBLIC INQUIRY FORM:

If you need to submit an inquiry, change an address , request your new NVC case number or need to update your info in anyway NVC has a public inquiry form where you can submit your request as well as many other requests:

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html

Once you’ve received your NVC case number you can track your case online using the following link, until it is sent to your embassy:

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=IV

Also, inside the attached PDF below are a few tips, tricks and hacks to help you along the way.

These are items that everyone asks for, so they have been very helpfully put together by senior VJMember Greenbaum for you to refer to when necessary. If you are new to this thread, please read these first as these are the most asked questions.

Please note, it was brought to my attention that some of the information may be outdated, but most of the helpful tips and tricks are still accurate. Regarding your packet 3, there isn’t anyone within VJ currently providing that information for each embassy so that part of the PDF may be disregarded.

NVC sends petitions to the embassy every two weeks on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I noticed a 2025 shipping calendar being shared so I have included it below.

You can use that calendar to track when the next shipment date will be.

Thanks for the great summary, it was really helpful! We got a notice that our case was approved and sent to the NVC on February 18th. Do you know how long it usually takes to get a case ID after that? How about the time it takes to reach the Embassy in my fiancé’s home country? Once it's there, does the Embassy need more time to process it, or can my fiancé just go ahead and submit the DS-160 and book an interview slot right away? Would love some clarification on this.

Great question.  I hope someone answers.

However, the Mods on this board are not very helpful and sometimes provide false information.

This will be embassy specific. The request cases as soon as they have interview dates available normally so the time it takes to reach the embassy will depend on them. There wouldn’t be a set estimate I can share

The first thing I’d advise is to fill in your profile with your fiancé s home country and also to join some of the forums more specific to your embassy because those answers will vary.
For the Dominican Republic, you can fill out your DS-160 as soon as your case is at the embassy and book an interview but I don’t know if yours will be the same so I hesitate to give you more clarity without knowing for sure.
