question about NOA number...

Hi.

Like (I've already seen) many of us I already got my biometrics appt. but still no NOA1 for my AOS. I found a number on the appt. letter that starts with MSC. Is that my NOA number?! I tryed to look it up on USCIS.gov but first of all it says there... your application receipt number starts with EAC,WAC, LIN, or SRC. Well, I tryed it anyway but it didn't work, it said... Case Status Retrieval Failed

This Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the National Customer Service Center.

So is that my NOA number or how can I find it out?! Thanks

Yes, the "MSC" numbers on your biometrics letter are your receipt numbers. USCIS seems very behind in updating their online system right now.

Is the notice of the biometrics appointment that you got a Notice of Action? If so, why does it say in the box labeled 'Notice Type' in the upper-right area of the NOA?

My letter is not a Notice of Action, it says on it... ASC Appointment Notice... On the left side on top it says... case type: I485..., than there is an application number: MSC..., a notice date, a USCIS A#, a code, the service center and a box that says TCR but is not filled out.
