Hi, I am currently assembling my I-485 packet and was wondering what the best evidences were:

Marriage Certificate
NOA2 Letter
Photos of City Hall/Courthouse Wedding

Evidence of Cohabituation (Both of our names on credit card statements, bank statements, phone bills, medical/dental/vision insurance policies)

Her name as beneficiary to my retirement/IRA accounts
Photos of us together in the U.S.
Birth Ceritificate

CA DMV ID Card
Passport Biographical Page

Passport K1 Visa Page
Copy of I-94 Arrival
U.S. Admission Stamp on Passport

Affidavit of Support

Vaccinations/Medical Reports

Should I include anything from my K-1 packet (Vietnam) such as our engagement party/banquet/how we met/relationship timeline, etc.?

Don't forget the signed I-485 form itself with two accompanying passport photographs.

I didn't include any wedding photos as there weren't any! I don't think they need accompanying information from the K1 packet. They can interview you if they want to quiz you about the validity of the relationship.

Are you going to submit an employment authorisation document? Judging by timelines I have seen they are being approved quite quickly.

Thank you! Do you know the processing times? On the USCIS website, it says 12.5 months average for Employment Authorization, and 14-15 months for the I-485.

I was scanning through recently approved AOS timelines earlier. It seems to be taking eight to ten months for most people. My AOS application was submitted on January 27th with a predicted EAD approval, according to Visa Journey, of about 15th March. Two to three months seems typical.

However, it all seems a bit random. Be prepared for a long wait and then you can be pleasantly surprised if approval comes quickly!

Jaycel submitted her Employment Auth Application concurrently with her I-485 and it was approved in 51 days

And we did not include any evidence from the I-129F packet - We only included what proff of a bona fide marriage we had gathered since She arrived in the US. They have access to the I-129F packet in her A-File anyway. Also, in the time since we filed the AOS, we have naturally generated a lot more marital evidence and we have used the portal to upload this evidence to her case file

@Edward and Jaycel I have just looked at your timeline. The EAD was approved about two weeks after the biometrics appointment. That seems quite common as if EADs are routinely approved soon after biometrics. Mine was earlier this week.

I hope the job search is going/went well.

Yes lately ive seen them being approved as soon as the day after the biometrics to 2-3 weeks after the appointment when it’s one that’s filed with an I-485. Hope yours comes soon!! :) Jaycel got a job almost right away after she got the EAD in the mail!

Well done on the job hunting success!

Tell me what happens when you apply for a social security number? Do you card a card in the email or is it shown on the EAD?

It comes in the mail. I don't think it is shown on the EAD from what I know of

It comes as an official SSN Card from the SS Administration, separate from the EAD.

Until the Green Card is issued, the SS Card will have a disclaimer on it that says (NOT VALID FOR EMPLOYMENT WITHOUT DHS AUTHORIZATION"

Jaycel's EAD status did not change from "Approved" to "Card Produced" for 7 days. The SS Card arrived 1 week after the EAD was approved (Coincidentally the same day the EAD status changed to "Produced") and the EAD arrived 3 days later

I will go and set up my online account. I can then have fun watching the status change over the next few weeks.
