Should I file I-129F while waiting for I-130?

I physically and mentally cannot be away from my husband anymore. I am wondering if i should just file the I-129K (K3) in hopes of trying to get the process going. We applied over 8 months and have still been waiting. This process is killing both of us right now.

Yes, you can file it. Some people think it helps.

 

There’s still a long way to go though, can you plan a visit with each other so that you have something to look forward to and break up the wait maybe?

Sure, but don't really raise your hopes.  The time to do that would have been as soon as you got your receipt notice for filing the I-130.  If it helps it helps.  Good luck to you, really.

 

In the meantime, go visit your husband.
