Hello, we are going to be at consulate interview for my spouse(foreign) cr1 interview.

Embassy sent us a list of documents to bring and they are asking for ORIGINALS of tax transcripts that we uploaded to NVC.

I downloaded tax return transcripts from irs WEBSITE as pdf and uploaded them.

Can I bring the SAME pdf file to interview as print?

Is there an ORIGINAL form of these documents like sealed envelopes from IRS?

I'm not sure if embassy will accept just a print ot of these PDFs because they are asking for ORIGINALS of documents.

Anyone can shade some light on this?

The PDFs of the tax transcripts you download from the irs.gov website are the “Originals”. The embassies love to use blanket language for requirements so they can just use this same language for multiple documents

Correct, but the answer is yes, a print of the Tax Return Transcript PDF is as "original" as is possible.  They know this.

thank you again gentlemen, to confirm: i do not need to print and sign these documents(tax returns, 1040 etc) right?

my spouse can simply print the PDF and bring as originals to interview?

i checked the transcripts and 1040 form, they have all the information but they do not have any signature. i wonder if they have to have any signature.

You do not bring both Tax Return Transcripts AND Tax Returns

You bring EITHER the Tax Return Transcript OR the complete tax return (all pages, all schedules, etc.) AND the W-2s & 1099s.

I highly recommend using the Tax Return Transcripts as USCIS and the Embassies strongly prefer those. If you use those, there is no signature on them.

If you use the tax returns and W-2s & 1099s, if you E-Filed, I would imagine you write "E-FILED" in the signature field and include the E-File receipt (I am not certain on this as I have exclusively used Tax Return Transcripts - Maybe another member can comment on the proper procedure for E-File)

No need to sign tax forms, return copies or return transcripts.
