Hi everyone,

My fiancé and I are going through the K-1 visa process, and our case was sent to the Department of State on December 27, 2024. It has now been 51 days, and our case is still at NVC. We received our case number via public inquiry on February 3, 2025 but we haven’t received the official NVC email, and CEAC still shows "At NVC."

I know K-1 cases are usually transferred within 2–4 weeks, but I’ve seen others with later case dates, also going to the same embassy in Ankara, Turkey, already receive their NVC emails while ours remains stuck.

Has anyone else, especially those with cases going to Ankara, Turkey, experienced similar delays? Does NVC send cases out of order? If your case was delayed, what helped move it forward?

I contacted NVC via the public inquiry form last week, but I haven’t received any updates yet. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Mine is sitting at NVC for 45 days , and isn't moving I also got my case number via pif after that nothing, I send em an email again and haven't even get any acknowledgement. I would just say keep patience you are not alone, we all together in this , good luck 🤞

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. I totally feel you. My case has been at NVC since December 27, 2024, and like you, I got my case number via public inquiry, but since then, there’s been no movement. Good luck to you, too 🤞

@dreamer32 @toor09 FWIW, VJ members who filled out the Timeline show the average days at NVC is 53 days.

It's very possible you may be on the higher end of the average.

Also for the Ankara consulate, the average days between the consulate receiving information from NVC to the actual interview is 112 days.

For Islamabad, the average is 34 days.

Thanks for sharing that info! I understand that processing times vary, but what’s confusing is that I know some people whose cases were sent to NVC weeks after ours, and theirs have already been transferred to Ankara. It makes me wonder why ours is still stuck at NVC.

There is no order or reason why some cases get processed faster than others.

Unless NVC has a phone number you can call, it sounds like you are doing the most allowed with the NVC public inquiry form. You can wait and submit another inquiry next week? But I wouldn't try to do too many successive inquiries at once.

I wish there was more transparency in how cases are processed. I’ll wait a bit and try submitting another inquiry next week if there’s still no update. Hopefully, things start moving soon!

Things will definitely start moving, and they'll move towards the right direction, things takes time but it's all in our benefit. All we can do is to have pure intentions and then nature starts to work for us . So why to do all this work and take burden of stress on our own shoulders? Let's sit back and relax and let nature do it's job . Everything will be perfect and we'll get what we want even if it's taking longer but it will be durable . Let's be happy and thankful to Almighty 😊
