Thank you!

I saw your comments on the other post that it should be printed one-sided only. Will my 3 years' bank statements, bills, and other supporting documents too many pages and overwhelming? Should I print documents in color? Thanks!

The reason for single-sided documents is that your whole package is scanned when it gets there.  There is a danger that whoever is loading it into the machine will not SEE that you have printed "duplex" and that may lead to questions later.

Don't worry about color.  Our packet was about 3 inches thick.  I'm sorry we have to waste paper printing all of this (wouldn't it be nice to just upload electronic documents?), but I've always felt it is better to "idiot proof" your packet and not risk an RFE.

Another maybe dumb question: Since our credit card statements do not show the name of the authorized user, I am thinking just send a copy of our cards showing both name and the same account number. Should I also send the statements which only have one person's name on it? Our joint bank checking account statements show we pay off this credit card monthly.

Lease? Mortgage?

I am also wondering if the officer will have the same questions since they are listed on the instructions. We have no lease or mortgage contracts because our house had already been paid off before we get married. Should I explain it in somewhere? If so, where? and should I include some documents to prove?

Thank you!  And you reminded me to think about way to assemble the package. How do you organize it? Do you use Binder Clips, or anything else other than the rubber band?

Mention the no-mortgage fact in your cover letter.  No need to prove it.  You have homeowners insurance with both names.  That's fine.

As @OldUser link shows, USCIS Tips for Filing Forms by Mail recommends not using binders, folders, heavy-duty staples, etc., or anything that can not easily be disassembled. We wrapped our 2-inch stack with 2 long rubber bands since we read others using them in their package. We put the rubber-banded stack inside the FedEx medium plastic envelope cover sealed to protect it from moisture. And we shipped everything inside the FedEx medium box.

After USCIS receives the package, they want to disassemble it quickly and put the documents in a stack scanner. So think about how your package can be easily disassembled and less prone to human errors?

@Yu1988 It doesn't hurt to mention "no lease or mortgage contracts because our house had already been paid off before we get married" in

Part 11. Additional Information, listing,

Page Number: 3, Part Number: 5, Item Number: 6.

The cover letter may or may not be looked at much, but anything in the I-751 will be looked at to make it very clear why you have homeowner insurance in both names, but no lease or mortgage.

Did you use any dividers or labels at the bottom to separate documents? Since USCIS recommends not using binders, folders, heavy-duty staples, etc., I am thinking use either binder clips or rubber band. Will rubber band damages paper edge if it is too tight or cannot hold paper together if it is too loose?

I agree with you that cover letter might be read, while anything in the Form will be looked. I still feel like that part 11 is extra space for the questions in the form. It is a little strange to me to add mortgage comment there. What you think?
