Do I need to sign my tax returns form 1040?

I filed my 2024 returns online and got a copy of 1040 from TurboTax. Do I need to print and sign it?

 

My spouse will bring it to embassy interview. 
 

can I just email the pdf TurboTax gave me or do I need to sign it with pen?

No.  An email copy is fine......or you could print and sign a copy, then send her a scanned copy of the signed one.

Thank you for answer. I did not print and sign it. I just emailed (pdf TurboTax generated) it to my spouse to print. My spouse wouldn’t receive it on time if I mail it now, her interview is in 3 days. 
 

Did I make a mistake? Should I worry?

I didn't say that you should mail it.  I said the opposite.  I said you could sign a copy and email her a scan of the signed copy......either way, there is no need to mail her a copy of your tax forms. 

I should have said "email her a copy" instead of "send".

No.  It is fine.

If you filed electronically see if you can get the transcripts. IRS processes them pretty fast these days (mine were available next day last year) and they’re preferred. They don’t always process that fast though. 
 

If you need to use a 1040 for processing delays or some reason what Crazy Cat said is correct.
