And really October 15 is the cut-off because of the automatic extension.

Correct, but history shows that some COs start requiring them earlier than that.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

thank you, i don't know what tt electronic post-mark is

when i e-filed my taxes with turbotax, it generated a 1040 form. it has all my info. but it doesn't have any signuture, so is it okay if i simply forward that pdf to my spouse? or do i have to print, sign (there is no place to sign btw) and mail?

It is on the last page of the filed pdf generated (well, at least it is for me - am using Desktop TurboTax (TT) though, not online). Your final pdf should have some certification from TurboTax that it has been e-filed.  Email final pdf.

This was a mistake by the CO.  There is no way, they should be requiring 2024 tax forms this early.  Unfortunately, the shortest path of resistance is to give them what they want.  Make sure your new I-864 reflects accurate current annual income.

Current annual income = gross income from most recent pay period paystub multiplied times number of pay periods per 12 month period.

Good luck.

Hi crazy cat, for my i864 as current annual income I put my annual salary before taxes. I don’t know what gross salary mean in your formula.

basically my salary is 76,223.00 a year before taxes or deductions. And I put that amount or 77k. Was it a mistake? My take home after taxes etc is 4K a month and it makes 4x12=48k but instead I put 77k. I just want to know if I need to update it.

thanks.

That is correct.  "Gross income" = before taxes, deductions.

Because you provided your 2024 W2 (even though you have not filed taxes for 2024) it should be reflected in your Affidavit of support.  Just fill up another i-864 with your 2022-2024 income, then upload.  Upload the 2024 W2 too if not yet uploaded.

God bless!

Thank you for the advice!

And do be aware there is a new version of the form.  Has nothing to do with this apparent mistake by the CO, but do use the current form.

Hello, I'm just using this current topic to ask another question if that's okay.

1). I have attached the Document Submission form for the 221g (attached to this question) and there is a line that asks for UID Number, do you know what that is?

2). On the 221g that my wife received (attached at beginning of this thread) it tells us to "Upload Only" the documents that they require, but that my wife must also send her Passport physically to the US Embassy as well. My question is, do I need to include the Document Submission form with the forms I upload to CEAC or is that form only for my wife to use when she mails her passport to the US Embassy?

3). Should I upload the 221g to CEAC as well or is that just for my wife to send with her passport physically?

Thank you!

1.) Visit this post for UID -

2.) Document submission form with passport.  I suggest to submit a copy of 221-G as well with passport.  (no harm in sending)

3.) Upload only the document required.

(Pardon me, we didn't experience 221G but just helping you to some answers found in VJ and from our chat group then when we were processing.)
