Gov. Half-Whitmer doesn't appear to be ready for prime time.  Hopefully, this ruins her chances for further elective office.

Who is Gretchen Whitmer Hiding From?

[...] What's going on here?  Is this some White House staffer who was caught in a weird or awkward moment?  Nope.  It's Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, one of the names that is often tossed around as a potential new leader for the Democrats and a presidential candidate in 2028, standing in the Oval Office, hiding her face behind some folders as if she's been caught by the paparazzi.

If you don't believe me, here's another shot of Whitmer in the Oval Office on the same day, looking like she's rethinking every life choice she's ever made.  [...]

It is amazing how the Democrats seem to be latching on to the 20% side of the 80-20 issues out there.  This is one of them, and even Hakeem the Dream is saying the Dems are just trying to shape public opinion on this issue which means to the Dems, it is all political.  Once the facts actually got out about this person, it seems pretty clear, there is no basis for him to be in the US regardless of the tear-jerking stories being given by the Dems, and their MSM/synchronized media allies.

Abrego Garcia isn’t the winning political issue Democrats think he is

To hear Democrats like Sen. Chris Murphy (D-RI) tell it, Garcia was just an innocent, doting father who was randomly targeted by the Trump administration to be sent to El Salvador’s Terrorism Confinement Center. The Supreme Court then ordered Trump to return this “legal” resident back to the United States. Trump has refused, sending our nation into a constitutional crisis. Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) has even announced he is going to personally travel to El Salvador to bring Garcia home.

The problem is that Democrats leave a lot out of Garcia’s story, and the truth makes Trump’s failure to return him quite reasonable.

For starters, Garcia was not in the United States legally. By his lawyer’s own admission, he entered the country illegally in 2011. Then, eight years later, Garcia was arrested at a Home Depot while illegally soliciting employment. The Prince George’s County Police Department then transferred him to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which began deportation proceedings against him.

You Can't Make This Up:  El Salvador Rejects Maryland Senator's Visit

I'm beginning to think Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen isn't playing with a full deck, and if I were one of his constituents, I'd be thinking long and hard about re-electing him.

First, there are just under 6.3 million people living in Maryland, but this guy is so focused on just one that he doesn't really seem to be doing what the state's voters elected him to do.

Second, the one person he's focused on is not only affiliated with a foreign terrorist organization, but he's also not even a U.S. citizen and has a history of violence.

Third, Van Hollen wasted a whole lot of taxpayer money today when he boarded a plane to El Salvador to go attempt to meet with and free this man — who, again, is a Salvadoran citizen — and smuggle him back into the United States.

American Hostages In Gaza Disguise Themselves As MS-13 Gang Members So Democrats Will Fight To Bring Them Home

GAZA — In a desperate attempt to return to family and friends they haven't seen in over a year and a half, American hostages being held by Hamas reportedly disguised themselves as MS-13 gang members so Democrats would fight to bring them home to the U.S.

After being held captive since late 2023 with little sign of their elected officials being motivated to bring them home, sources said the Americans still in the custody of Hamas had devised a clever plan to cover themselves in MS-13 tattoos so congressional Democrats would advocate for them.

"Maybe this will make us less invisible," one American hostage said [...]

So Van Hollen could not throw his weight around in El Salvador to see a citizen of El Salvador?  It seems this winner was an accused wife beater as well.  My how the Democrats will use somebody for politics.

Correct me if I wrong.  This guy entered the US illegally, correct?  A Judge issued a removal order, correct?  Garcia applied for asylum after the removal order was issued, correct?

Van Holland is insane, imo.  He is definitely on the wrong side of an 80/20 issue.

To clarify, he applied for asylum which was denied by an IJ and upheld by BIA.  Also, yes, there is an active order of deportation on him, but also a removal stay specific to El Salvador, but not any other country to my knowledge.  With asylum claim denied, and entering the U.S. without inspection, I do not see a pathway for him to become legal inside the U.S.  what I am unclear of is can a new asylum claim be entered after one was denied?  I suppose yes, if the circumstances have changed.

in short, the blocking of the removal order to el salvador was an end run around deportation policy as pretty much every country deports people back to their home country.

Absolutely, and this appears to be the basis for the MS/synchronized media for saying he was here legally.  I haven’t heard of the legal status deportation order, blocking a single country status.

The Masochistic Democrats Hate You — And Beg You to Hate Them Back

Every once in a while, you run into something that strikes a chord with you and makes your head nod.  You'll say to yourself, "Yeah, that's not just true, it's incandescently true."

And scrolling through X on Wednesday, I stumbled on just such an item:  [...]

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Maybe I'm wrong but I think there is a much bigger play going on. I'm starting to believe that Democrats feel that if they can make the case for this guy in court or even just in the court of public opinion, it will be very difficult to deport anyone in the future. Immigration with all its complexities that the general public has very little familiarity with has long been an issue that Democrats like to conflate; for example, rarely do I see a distinction in most media between "illegal" and "legal."
