They used a laser to cut my flap. Then just lifted it back. They didn't cut it completely off. It's more like a semi-circle. Then they can just turn it back and laser your eye. They do still have lasik where they use a blade but mine was blade free. It's less likely to cause problems by them cutting the flap too deep or not deep enough. I didn't notice the thing they used to keep my eye open either. I'm not sure what they gave me before the surgery, but I lost 3 whole days afterwards. I think they should have given me a lower dosage.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

 Oh yeahhhh...gimme that vicodin.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Wow 3 days! My mom came to wake me up to see if I was ready to open my eyes and It old her to go away and slept for 4 more hours! Then I slept for about 8 hours that night and needless to say, I was pretty tired the next day.

Well they gave me sleeping pills to take afterwards so I would sleep. But this was on top of whatever they had already given me. Then when I went back the next day for my check up, the flap on my right eye had a crease in it so they had to fix that. They wanted me to take another sleeping pill after that so I would sleep the rest of that day. Then the day after that, I guess I was so hopped up on sleeping pills, I just slept all day anyway. I seriously don't remember anything from those 3 days. We even went out to eat and say my SIL while we were out. Javi says I carried on a conversation with her for about 15 minutes. Don't remember eating and definitely don't remember talking to my SIL. It's kinda scary.

I had eye corrective surgery done a few months ago too. I did not qualify to have lasik because the corneas of my eyes were to thin and the doctores were afraid to go in an do the surgery because there has to be a certain amount of thickness in your eye to allow a small room for error. Any who they did another surgery on me called PRK. Its pretty much the same as the lasik. It's done with a laser and all but the cut on the eye surface is done a bit different. PRK IS SAFER and more precise THAN LASIK. Since there was no room for error on my cornea this was my best option. People who are on the military are only allowed to get PRK and not Lasik. Its wonderful my vision is great. The only down fall is that the down time is a bit longer than lasik but it is safer. It generally takes about 4-5 days to see 100% clear with out fuzz or any blurry moments. Every one varies in heal time. When you walk out of the surgery that takes just minutes you see great! IM SO HAPPY WITH MY RESULTS. I was blind as a bat and now its just amazing no to wear glasses or contacts.
