03/01/2025: Biometrics appointment arrived by mail

03/26/2025: Biometrics appointment

Was surprised with how far out the biometrics was scheduled, but I’m guessing it’s because we live at a border town, so it must be busier.

We will be traveling outside of the US on March 29th, so I’m glad that I won’t have to worry about the biometrics being scheduled during our travel.

Hi all,

I'm in a weird position with i751 filing. I went through a lawyer due to some complications with my case. For now my spouse and I are filing jointly.

My lawyer sent all our forms and evidence on the first day I became eligible which was 12/31/2024. He sent it via USPS regular mail (for some weird reason!) so we didn't get any updates about delivery and what not. I waited patiently until February 24th, 2025. The money order was not cashed and no receipt notice. We didn't file a G1145 form so won't get any text/email updates. My lawyer recommended to cancel the money order and refile everything. I got a cashiers check against the money order this time. It was sent via FedEx tracking to Elgin lockbox. Here's my current timeline:

02/28/2025: i751 package delivered via FedEx. Signed by J.Enn

I also have a slight error on my i751 where the month of marriage is mentioned as October instead of December but my lawyer assures me that that won't be a cause for denial, as we can correct it when we receive the receipt notice.

I'm super nervous about this and any advice or opinion will be welcome. 🙏

Just got the online access code from agent live chat, able to see at least the extension notice for my wife, though nothing about biometrics yet.

So:

02/25 Received date

02/28 CC Payment made

03/04 Notice Date (not yet delivered, just when they created it)

03/01: Receipt Notice/Extension Letter Delivered

Biometrics Appointment Was Scheduled for 3/20

Hey I'm curious, where did you see the biometrics appointment, in our receipt notice (looking online, haven't received it in the mail yet) it just says the biometrics appt if needed will be scheduled and send on a separate notification. Did you get both letters at the same time?

Did you get the biometrics notification at the same time as the receipt notification in the mail, or as two different letters?

These are two different letters. Depending on USPS, they may arrive on same day or different days. But there should be two separate envelopes.

I saw the biometrics update online, i found the appointment letter under the document section in my online account, I haven’t received the physical appointment letter yet.
