Greetings from Japan,

we just notified about our interview data in japan. before the interview; Do I need to upload any document to ceac (nvc portal) prior to the interview?

Our police certificate is expired(7 months old), we got a new one. Do I need to upload this to nvc portal or email to embassy or should I just simply bring it in paper with me to the interview?

thank you,
Ryan

This is one item on the checklist for interview:

  • I-864, Affidavit of Support: From your petitioner and any co-sponsor, if any.

We filled and uploaded this on NVC stage.

Is it okay if I just download the copy we uploaded to NVC? Is this the same document?

I don't have the paper version of this, is it okay if we just print the same document and bring it to interview?

Or are they asking for another thing?

Greetings from Japan,

our interview date is here in Japan.

On our checklist there are 2 things we are not sure what to do:

1) This is one item on the checklist for interview: "I-864, Affidavit of Support: From your petitioner and any co-sponsor, if any. "

We filled and uploaded this on NVC stage. Is it okay if I just download the copy we uploaded to NVC? Is this the same document? I don't have the paper version of this, is it okay if we just print the same document and bring it to interview? Or are they asking for another thing?

2) Our police certificate is expired, we got a new one. Do I need to upload this to nvc portal or email to embassy or should I just simply bring it in paper with me to the interview?

Thank you!

Ryan.

Hello, do we need to upload this document to CEAC/NVC before the interview?

We don't have any changes, but before going to the interview, do we need to do anything on this portal? Or do we just need to bring paperwork with us to the interview?

This is from the US Embassy Tokyo website:

https://jp.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/family-immigration/how-to-apply-step-2/iv-checklist/

This is from the US Dept of State Website:

Specifically for Police certificates in Japan:

Note: Your Japanese police certificate should be in a sealed envelope. If the seal is broken, the certificate is no longer valid. (Only send a photocopy of the sealed envelope to National Visa Center, but not the actual police certificate itself.)

When was it uploaded to NVC?

Hi edward, i am in Japan but our consualte is in Germany. Sorry about the confusion. I was on mobile, when I read my first post, i think it made it sound like our interview will be in japan. but it will be in Germany. We're just here in japan temprorarly.

We got the police certificate and uploaded it at NVC stage. then we got documentary qualified and received interview notice.

We just got a new police certificate because it was 7 months old.

At this point, do we need to upload or do anything on CEAC/NVC website?

Yes I would upload a photocopy of the new police certificate to CEAC and also bring the original to the interview
