Hello!  In March 2024, my husband failed his K1 medical in London due to a DUI from 2006 (apparently the law changed and it doesn’t matter how old the charge is- it usually fails you).  He was put into a mandatory year long program where he was to take 3-4 random alcohol screen at Visa Medicals in London.  Complete pain as he lives in the north and it cost £150, train travel, and a day’s pay.   Anyway, I can’t find anything about what to expect now that we are coming to the end of this and I’d love to speak to someone who has been through this.  When he failed his medical March 9, he stated his last drink was Feb 15 2024.  Does his year start from his last drink, the date of the failed medical, or when they decided to call him for his first test which wasn’t until Mid-April?  Can we expect any sort of “front of the line” privilege for the consulate interview since this is round #2?  Any insight in this would be so helpful!  I will be happy to share everything we’ve been through as well.

thanks!

I haven't been through this myself but he could always contact Visa Medicals and ask them when his year begins from. If I had any queries they were very helpful and even if they didn't know the answer they would look into and call me back.
