Congrats ! When you say "Interview scheduled", are you talking about interview actually being scheduled or you talk about MyProgress (whatever step it says)? Many people read MyProgress incorrectly. Screenshot would be appreciated. Estimated time can be ignored as inaccurate.

If the check box is not checked all it means it's the next thing to happen. When will it happen, nobody knows. It can take months. Good luck and keep us updated!

apart from the Covid craziness, what’s the worst timeline? 6 months? 1 year?

Thats the scary part. These people basically can put a hold on life for a lot of folks even when there is no reason to.

FEB 2025 Filer for N400 here. Filed for my Mother and Father after their 4 years and 9 month completion. Father's application was on normal basis however mother's application was filed with N-648 disability waiver as she has cognitive disabilities and will not be able to take the US Civics test. Filed from Detroit Michigan. Recieved NOA for my father already and my mother's application is being sent in today by the Attorney. Hopefully this is not a hard process but worried due to the new Trump administration and their scrutiny on Immigration Applications.

My question is there a chance their old biometrics might be used? Is there a rule for it. The Biometrics were taken for the Permanent Residency Card a little more than 5 years ago. Thanks everyone!

Thanks for the information Jude61! Really appreciate it.

This is what is says when I tried to track the application:

As of February 1, 2025, we are actively reviewing your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, Receipt Number IOE##########. Our records show nothing is outstanding at this time. We will let you know if we need anything from you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

No biometrics appointment necessary as they will reuse what I submitted previously for my GC.  No refund of biometrics fee however!

USCIS never issues any refunds.

Would you rather go to biometrics appointment to get your money worth? I wouldn't. Also, biometric fee covers not just the visit. There's background checks performed by other federal agencies for each applicant. Even if you didn't go to appointment, those checks will be ran and need to be financed somehow.
