Hello,

I'm a permanent resident for past 9.5 years and recently applied for naturalization. My interview is being scheduled and I see one of the requirements is to provide an evidence of Selective Service Registration. I came to this country when I was 30 years old, and got green card at age of 35. I have not yet registered and when I try this, it only allows between the age of 18 to 26.

Question:

1. How do I get the evidence of Selective Service Registration?

2. If it compulsory for naturalization for case like me?

3. What are the ways to get it and what if once doesn't have it?

Please advise.

Thank you

You were never subject to registration for Selective Service in the United States.  You were too old when you got here.

There's a letter in that PDF.  Print it out and take it with you to your interview if you wish.

You were older than 26 when you got your green card, selective service registration does not concern you. I did not nothing about mine when applying for citizenship, they have your immigration paperwork and can clearly see you were above age so there is nothing to worry about, it won’t come up at your interview.
