NVC Email Replied - Case in "Transit" - Egyptian Embassy

 I got my email reply from NVC and they provided me with the case and invoice ID number. they stated the following:

"The National Visa Center (NVC) received your fiancé (e)’s/spouse’s approved I-129F petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). NVC will now forward the petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in Cairo, Egypt. Please note that the transfer process can take several weeks. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate will contact your fiancé (e)/spouse when they are ready to process his or her petition.

 

Next steps:

Go to our website http://nvc.state.gov/k1 to learn how to apply for a K visa and prepare for the visa interview."

So my questions are:
1- Should I wait till the status changes from "Transit" to "Ready" before starting DS 160? or can I just complete the DS 160 and schedule the interview while I am in Transit?
2- How long may it take the embassy to change from "Transit" to "Ready".
3- Am I going to get a welcome letter to create an account on CEAC?
4- What should I do to be proactive with the case?

3- Am I going to get a welcome letter to create an account on CEAC? you shouldn't need a welcome letter to make an account/start the DS-160

K-1 visa applicants do not create an account on CEAC as they do not upload any documents there. When it's time to create the DS-160 you don't need an account.

it depends on the embassy how long it takes for them to send the instructions

according to that link in my original comment it says packet 3 comes in an email to the petitioner, but it doesn't specify a time frame.

 

I would say wait 1-2 weeks before contacting them but you can use their visa navigator to find the correct email/way to type up the email so it goes to the right place

also according to that original link, everything is just a copy of the document. not the original. as the embassy will keep the documents you give them.

Complete your DS160 and print the confirmation document that has your confirmation number on it.

Then create a ustravelsdocs account so you can pay the visa fee and enter your case information, along with the DS160 confirmation number.

In Manila (PH) once you have done this and your case is at the "Ready" status like yours you can then book your biometric and embassy appointments via the ustraveldocs account.

Each embassy seems to have their own rules, so not sure how it works for yours.

When it says ready, book your interview date.  Give yourself time to complete the medical exam (~3 weeks) so it can be sent to the embassy before the interview.  You have everything you need now.  The rest of this process depends on you now
