Permission to post admin. Thank you.

We are still waiting for a case number but I want to make sure I am prepared and knowledgeable about the forms 😊

I have a question about the tax information for the past 3 years, since my fiance is young he has had part time jobs before and didn't last. In 2022 is when he's got a full time, quit it and did 3 other part time jobs. Until 2023 when he worked on his current job, now fulltime. He earns a minimum of $16 per hour. Works 8 hours or more in a day with 2 days off.

He's an office admin there and it's a fulltime, papers are good too. I just want to know if this is sufficient? Or do we need a co-sponsor? We're both single and no kids, so it's only the two of us. But he only plans to get an apartment when Im there, since he's the only child helping his mom with the rent.

Will there not be any issues with his tax for the past 3 years too considering his previous work both part time and fulltime.

Thanks very much!

His current income is the determining factor for the I-134 and I-864.

Have him include 3 months of payslips to show current income along with his 3 years of IRS tax return transcripts.

His current income extrapolated to a yearly salary should be 1.25 times the poverty guidelines.

https://aspe.hhs.gov/topics/poverty-economic-mobility/poverty-guidelines

So for a household of 2, his yearly income should be at least 26,437.5 = 1.25 * 21,150.

If his paycheck is not consistent, then a joint sponsor is recommended.

Hi thank you so much! His income is now consistent since 2023. And by computing his salary of $16.59 per hour he is above the 125%. I just have another question about his tax return since he didn't work in 2022. Is it ok if he requests for it and it shows zero income in 2022? Thanks again.

as mentioned above, Yes, it's okay if his 2022 tax return shows zero income, as long as his current income meets the 125% federal poverty guideline for the Affidavit of Support. The most important factor is his present and stable earnings, which he can prove with recent pay stubs, an employment letter, and his 2023 and 2024 tax returns. Since his income is now consistent and above the required threshold, the lack of income in 2022 should not be a problem.
