This has strengthened my stance on illegal immigration because I now see evidence of how it is harmful

This statement makes NO sense.   A person's moral character and behavior has nothing to do with their immigration status.

You could just as easily have petitioned a spouse who did the same thing to you.

But I still have to keep this hush hush from the church for at least a few weeks to have room to sort this all out. Remember, my housing is connected to this marriage not failing.

Not very christlike of them.

Here is what I wrote...

I am writing to withdraw the I-130 petition filed on behalf of my wife, (her name) in December 2023. Receipt no: XXXX and A# XXXX. I married her out of good faith and true love on my part, but I discovered through many of her words and actions that it was not reciprocated. Please see the attached discovery. I have other reasons to believe that she did not marry me for the right reasons. Moreover, we are not physically or emotionally compatible. She abandoned our marriage by moving out of our home as of yesterday not saying anything to anyone. I have no idea where she is. So, I will be filing for a divorce or annulment asap.

Make sure you specifically withdraw both the I-130 and the I-864 associated with her I-485 (adjustment of status) by receipt numbers with names and her A number.  I hope you  fid peace.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

I-485 isn't OP's petition and cannot be withdrawn by OP. I-130 and I-864 can be withdrawn by OP. This will cause I-485, I-131, I-765 closed due to underlying case withdrawn.

I should have said the I-864 which is associated with her I-485.  Thanks.   I'll edit...

I only filed the I-130 and not the I-485 for purposes of merely establishing that a marriage exists.

OP reported they did not file the I-485, only the I-130

I am about 90% sure. They were ready to put me out over marrying so quickly because it calls into question my "fitness to lead" based on an impulsive judgment. I told them that I am certain that I made a good decision and that if it fails then I will step down and never pastor again. I put my reputation and position on the line for her because I truly had no idea that this would happen.

I'm so sorry it went that far. I truly hope you can save your position with the church. You did fall for her and truly loved her. Yes you put everything on the line, but hopefully they will understand that you were 100% into this and she fooled you all. I will keep my fingers crossed they will understand. If not I pray you find a better church to take you one with less judgement.
