Success Stories of Expediting I-130 for Spouse Through Senator or Congressperson?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to hear from anyone who has attempted to expedite their I-130 petition for a spouse through a senator or congressperson. Were you successful in your request?
 

If you were, I’d love to know how the process went—did the senator or congressperson seem helpful? How long did it take to get an update, and what was the outcome?

For those who weren’t successful, I’d also appreciate hearing about your experience.

Did you feel like the senator’s office provided support? Were there any specific hurdles you faced or things you wish you’d done differently?

Remember that a Senator or Representative can only inquire about your case. The actual decision for an expedite comes straight from USCIS......discretionary, but based on their printed criteria.  Also remember that it costs nothing to request an expedite.
