I remember flying out on the Friday coming back overnight Sunday and straight to work

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I work Saturdays, my days off aren't consecutive.

Where there is a will, there is a way. If you're asking whether your case will be approved without meeting again... Technically, yes, it can get approved. We cannot give any solid predictions.

But in general, marrying somebody without seeing them at least few times in person is a risk, both immigration wise and life wise. It's in your own benefit to meet them again. You can decide for yourself. Good luck!

Multiple visits in person are good not only to ease the consul's mind, but to strengthen your relationship.  "Face time" is crucial to both aspects.  Where there's a will, there's a way, so banish the excuses and visit there or here.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

My case already approved since March 12, 2025. Now waiting for USCIS to send our case to DOS/NVC.

Now I am preparing more evidence for interview stage.
Again we only met once and have no plan to meet again until I finally move to the US.

So I am here to cheer you up and hope you will get good news soon.

We're living in different times.  I remember being younger and hearing how taboo it was to meet someone online, and how ludicrous it was for people to date consistently and commitedly without having met in person... yet.

However, times have changed, and the idea that your one-time meetup is potentially disqualifying, when we live in a digital age that even made meeting this person unthinkable twenty years ago, is a bit laughable to me.  I feel tertiary factors will come into play greatly here: the age of you two, your financial stability, and the length of knowing each other overall.  The K1 requirement is to have met in the past two years; take that literally, and focus on how, if you've only met once, have you legitimized your bona fide relationship in ways other than in each other's physical company.

For context, my husband and I met online through a virtual world in 2017 and began dating in 2020.  We finally got to meet in person in March of 2023 and submitted our I-129F five months later.  We are also financially independent and considerably mature (that's more a slight to us and our gray hairs than you lol), so I do feel our case was assessed with these factors in mind.  He is also from a low-fraud country, and not to be particularly biased but I do think if your future spouse is from the Western world, this is going to help a lot.

So personally, if I were under 25 and looking into doing K1, I'd increase the number of visits OR find ways to strengthen your case: whether it's a gift trail of receipts dating back years, a snapshot of lengthy call logs on Discord going back several years, or really any evidence with history that implies you have gotten to know each other, and consequently fell in love.  Be clear and concise, and document everything.  I know the OP posted almost two months ago, but I believe it's still useful food for thought, given that online relationships aren't going anywhere.

Otherwise, if you are sure about each other but not the process, Utah online marriages are the way to go.  You're already distant, enter your married life and get the spousal visa filed instead.  It'll save on time, money, and paperwork in the long run.

Best to you two. ❤️

Meeting online is definitely not as special as it used to be. Many people on Visajourney met and fell in love through online means.

id advise you to meet each other again before filing or at least during the process. Being physically together (especially for an extended amount of time) shows different sides of yourself to the other and will help in having a more stable relationship.

Your K1 will probably not be denied but the advice is there not just for your own merit, but also due to recent political changes which have brought extra scrutiny on any and all immigrants to the US.

Things are a bit more insecure than before - it’s more important than ever to be as convincing as possible with your evidence of a bona fide relationship.

Reading is what? Fun-da-men-tal!
