A friend of mine came here from the Philippines about 4 years ago on a fiancée visa. She married and applied for Adjustment of Status and received her 2 year residency card. She has applied and is waiting for the 10 year Green Card. Her spouse had an affair with a co-worker and she is considering divorce. Is she free to stay in the United States if she divorces and re-marry if she wishes. I have read many discussions on Adjustment of Status but I do not understand the process after that.

This site help me successfully apply for and receive a K-1 visa. Mine did not work out after my fiancée arrived but I had received great advice from this site and I was sure you guys could share some thoughts.

Thanks

Robert

The best thing to do is wait for the Permanent 10 year green-card. Yes can stay permanently after getting the 10 year un-conditional card.

Why? It's not a requirement to wait until she removes conditions before filing for divorce, although, it might be least complicated in terms of making sure her conditions are removed without delay.
