Hi all,

I'm just wondering if there is a change/increase to the Affidavit of Support HHS sponsor income requirements for 2025?

If so when is it effective? I saw the 2024 requirements seem to go into effect in March of last year. Thank you!

For planning purposes, expect the requirement to go up by the same 2.5% as the Social Security COLA.

Do you think it will stay the same until after my wife's Feb 12 interview? Thank you.

Probably, but if you are cutting it close enough to matter, it's too close.

why they went down is my question with all expenses going up

AI says

Poverty guidelines can appear to "go down" when adjusted solely for inflation, even if the cost of living is rising, because the calculation method used may not fully capture the true increase in living expenses, particularly for necessities like housing and healthcare, leading to a discrepancy between the poverty line and the actual cost of basic needs in today's economy; essentially, the poverty line might not be rising at the same rate as the cost of living, causing it to seem lower relative to current expenses.

This does not look correct. It's for filing other forms not the I-864 which is what I'm filing. Also it's at 150% not the normal 125%.

the poverty guidelines were from HHS

The lines for dates of going into effect were from USCIS which did not have 125%
