Hello Members,

I'm a LPR since 05/10/2022 (this is the date since when I am LPR and GC expired on 05/10/2024) and as I understand my eligibility date starts from 02/09/2025 based on the 3 year rule as I am married to a USC.

My I-751 is still actively being reviewed for about a year, I submitted it on Feb 29, 2024.

I have before queries if someone can assist:

  1. I have an uscis account with my spouse (US citizen) email but it's for myself, can I use the same account or do I need to create a new uscis account with my email? All my previous applications like 485, 131 and 751 etc are attached to this online account. This account was created by my husband back in the days when we started our K1 application.
  2. Everything is to be submitted online there is no paper forms involved for n400?
  3. Are people here preparing for civic test after submitting the n400 online or after they get their interview scheduled? Is all the material available on the uscis website or there is other online material also that people prepare from?
  4. Is it better that one gets scheduled for combo (both pending I-751 and n400) interview and its there a way to ensure that happens?
  5. any other tips before getting started with the N-400 filling process?

Thanks for taking the time to read through my questions and would really appreciate feedback from members who have information to share.

Regards.

1. N-400 petition belongs to LPR, not US citizen spouse. To avoid issues, immigrant should have their own account.

2. You can file by paper if you wish. You don't have to file online. If you file online, you don't need to submit anything by paper.

3. Depends on you. If you're a quick learner you can wait. But it's never a bad idea to prepare early. Official learning material is here: https://www.uscis.gov/citizenship/find-study-materials-and-resources/study-for-the-test

4. The best way is when I-751 is decided before N-400 interview. If not, combo interview is the next best. N-400 cannot be decided before I-751.

5. It's fairly simple. Find all of your travel dates before filling application. Same goes with marital evidence and addresses for the past 3 years.

Yes, but don't file on the very first day. Wait a few days to ensure there is no denial
